The Encounter

by Tamara Dawn

Depressed and lonely, went for a walk in the woods....
Brang my gun, I thought I could....
Looked for a place to end it all, I had no purpose...then got my call.
Found a rock, lonely and cold...
This was where I was soon told...
Looked to the sky, so weak and tired...
I prepared myself to die.
Sat on the boulder, the gun to my head, someone touched my shoulder...
As I turned to see, I felt His love...
God was behind me.
He held my hand, filled me with life...
Then genlty let me stand.
I smiled now, in spite of my past...
I knew that my life would last.
The gun disappeared from my hold, God needed me here I was told...
He told me stories, that were sad...
Twice the hurt, I thought I had.
As I turned to Him to ask why, and stopped when I saw the tears in His eyes...
God feels all our bad...pain, hurt, anger...all the feelings sinners have...
I fell before Him, began to pray...
"I forgive you", I heard Him say...
I looked up to my Lord again, as He held out a beautiful hand...
and lifted my chin.
Forgot my pain, as He sang a song...so beautiful...all too soon, He was gone.
Since that day, He's left a part....
Now He's built a home inside my heart.
About His tears, they'll always be here...
Throughout the years.
Because His pain will never cease, not until we unite in peace...
I go on living a life brand new, fighting His pain...
The rest is up to you.
